An Excuse

A psychological horror film about the way Korea educates its children. Parents make a show of caring about their son's future, but the moment discipline is called for they step in and block it, afraid of the mark it will leave on his school record. The boy grows up learning neither responsibility nor limits, and the adults bury every incident with the same line, that you only have to change your name to start over. In a society that protects records and appearances instead of teaching, he turns monstrous by degrees, until he can do harm and feel nothing at all.
