Yeonmin Was Here

People walk through the city, each of them carrying an enormous stone. The stones grow larger, the walking grows faster, and when someone falls, almost nobody can stop. Somewhere among them a woman's voice keeps calling out for Yeonmin. At first people turn around when they hear it. As time passes, fewer and fewer respond, until no one turns at all. Yeonmin Was Here looks at people so taken up with the weight of their own lives that they lose the room to notice anyone else's pain, and speaks of the compassion already inside us, covered over for a while.
