UNBECOMING

One person's self is split into two beings, one female and one male. They keep eating by the rules society has set, but the meal turns into an act that holds down body and identity, and their bodies collapse under it. In a rush they cannot control, the two selves fuse into one new being, and the lines between female and male, between normal and abnormal, come apart. Through dance, this being makes an identity of its own instead of the shape it has been asked to take, and meets freedom. UNBECOMING is an animation about refusing to become what society demands, and about building a world of one's own away from norms and watching eyes.
