The lantern

Eugene lives on a remote island with his wife Jane and their small daughter Joy. When Joy falls gravely ill, the island holds no way to treat her. Eugene puts himself in a small wooden boat and heads for the distant mainland to find the antidote that will save her. The sea meets him with a hard storm, and again and again he is left on the line between living and dying. Lost on a pitch black sea with the last of his strength going, what moves him once more is the single thought of getting back to his family.
